In particular, the trend towards placing the Inertial Measurement Unit inside the engine compartment requires operation under harsh conditions, while the costly options of shielding and vibration damping are limited. This paper presents a fully differential accelerometer with improved immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI). The sensor operates in an unshielded molded package, and is compliant with the ESC specifications. Figure 22.1.1 shows a block diagram of the system.
