The magnitudes of IRS and VXH follow simple dynamics under a resonant condition. When VXH is low, the resonant current IRS is built up slowly, whereas when VXH is high, the current is decreased or diminished to zero. If we consider the envelope magnitudes only in CCM based on the phasor transformation, the envelope of IRS and VXH behaves like the current and voltage in a buck type switching DC-DC converter with an equivalent inductance of 4LRS [4]. Meanwhile in DCM, IRS is abruptly decreased to zero with the start of off duty so that VOUT is regulated more precisely at light load. Wireless power transfer up to the 5W power level has become a recent trend for mobile phones, which can be classified into two types: inductive type and resonant type.
