Abstract This paper presents a double step-up single-inductor bipolar-output (DSU-SIBO) converter for AMOLED displays. By employing a 1:2 charge pump, the proposed design reduces both DC and AC components of the inductor current, thereby minimizing loss and achieving a peak efficiency of 94.8%. With 2-out-of-3-phase energy delivery, each output receives energy during two phases per cycle, reducing output ripple by up to 88%. The prototype is implemented in a 180-nm BCD process. The growing demand for high-quality visual experiences has necessitated the use of highperformance and large-size AMOLED displays in portable devices, which require both positive and negative supply rails (VOP and VON).
