A TX equalizer is used to realize high-speed transmission of 5.0GT/s up to 40-inch FR4 trace. The power dissipation of PHY has been reduced by 22%, using the “Partially-regulated LC-VCO” while suppressing the PLL/CDR jitter down to 10pspp .The maximum power consumption per port of this SoC is 0.8W at 20Gb/s. So, the data transfer performance is 0.04W/(Gb/s). The data transfer performance of 4X InfiniBand is 0.083W/(Gb/s) [6]. Thus, this SoC provides 51.5% less power consumption than 4X InfiniBand.
