worldwide acknowledged to be the main leading cause of irreversible blindness. High intraocular pressure (IOP) is considered the leading risk factor for glaucoma. Lowering IOP continues to be the only evidence-based treatment to prevent its development or reduce the progression rate [1]. Contemporary office-based measurements are not sufficient to discover daily changes and IOP spikes, nor do they demonstrate the effect of medication or patients’ compliance to the prescribed therapy. The detection of the IOP’s variation due to the circadian rhythm (±7mbar at 1.157*10-5Hz around a patient spread of 7-65mbar as show in Fig. 21.7.1) pretends to be a more valuable parameter than the today standard static measurement.
