Abstract A sticker-like light sensing system is demonstrated in flexible N type-only IGZO TFT. It reuses RF signals for harvested battery charging and backscattered communications, and repurposes resistors as light sensors. Low-power operation is enabled by techniques for state-of-the-art efficiency in voltage regulation, signal amplification, data conversion and pseudo-dynamic logic. Indoor light sensing and 0.9GHz data transmission are demonstrated with 2.02mm2 area at 15.5μW (<1% duty cycle). The quest for thin and conformable electronics fuels the demand for flexible systems based on IGZO thin-film transistors (TFTs) [1]-[3] in lightweight, bendable and low-cost wearable/patchable wireless sensing systems [4]-[6].
